1/2" Radius

The 1/2" radius on the top edge will eliminate the stress concentration in the steel tool, extending tool life and reducing production costs.

But the 1/2" radius is excessive and will remove too much metal from the block, reducing its effectiveness as a heat sink.  

  • Note the generous draft angle on the side walls for easy ejection from the die.

 The 1/2" radius" is not a good design choice.
   Go back and choose another approach.
