No Radius

amc.gif (6172 bytes)

Leaving the sharp edges on the heat sink block will maximize the thermal mass of the heat sink block but, will have a negative effect on tool life.

The sharp edges will act as stress concentrations in the steel tool, shortening tool life and increasing production costs.

  • Note the generous draft angle on the side walls for easy ejection from the die.

"No radius" is not a good design choice.
Go back and choose another approach.
