The Die Casting Process

amc.gif (6172 bytes)
Die casting is a manufacturing process in which molten metal is forced under high pressure into reusable, precise tolerance metal dies.
St. Clair Die Casting in St. Clair, Missouri won the contract to produce the heat sink block as a precision die casting.

The heat sink block is cast in a precision-machined steel tool in a cold chamber die casting machine.

The finished die cast aluminum blocks are sent to the OEM plant where the blocks are bolted to the forged steel base plate/shoe. The track block assembly is then molded in abrasion-resistant rubber.
