Both manufacturing methods force material into a reusable mold that produces a part after the material solidifies. Die casting and injection molding are both high-speed processes, quickly producing high volumes of parts. The molds for each process are generally tooled from steel and have very long lifespans. Tooling costs are comparable for each process. They are both capable of produce parts with thin walls, very complex geometries, or both.
